"The Schemer & The Dreamer"

May 25 - July 27

As we follow the historical narrative of two great patriarchs of the faith, we can learn valuable lessons for living a fruitful and productive Christian life, as well as pitfalls to avoid. Everything we think and do will affect or lives somehow!  Further, we see God working in the redemptive history as He points to Jesus Christ.

"Leaving Life in God's Hands"

May 25

Pastor Bob See

Sometimes it's hard to trust God because we can't see what He sees, so we find ourselves taking life into our own hands.  Jacob was a man who was chosen by God from birth, but felt the need to manipulate God's plans.  God is trustworthy, and even when our faith falters, He can redeem us.

"Encountering God "

June 1

Pastor Dave Troyer

Everyone needs an encounter with God.  Even Jacob, the grandson of Abraham was not "grandfathered in,"  the faith of his fathers had to become his own.  God offers to make a covenant with us, telling us that we can come to Him just as we are and through Jesus He will make us into who He wants us to be.

"What Goes Around Comes Around"

June 8

Pastor Bob See

When we violate the will of God, we will experience the natural consequences of sin.  As hard as these effects can be, the result can often be that we begin to understand the pain of others, to be drawn toward God, and learn to minister to the problems others are experiencing.  Ultimately, God is a God of grace and forgives and redeems our sin.

"A New Name"

June 15 - Father's Day

Pastor Dave Troyer

When Jacob wrestled with God, God gave him a new name - a new identity.  God is patient with us as we grow and he disciplines those he loves.  Through this struggle that Jacob endures for a night, we get a glimpse of things to come:  when God appears again as a human in Jesus Christ.

"Brothers Unite "

June 22

Kirk Bode

Jacob and Esau, the twins who have been at odds since birth, reconcile and unite to bury their father Isaac.  A picture of forgiveness and restoration compels us to obey God as He calls to do the same with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
